This scholarship honors our fierce, teal warrior – Taryn Claassen. Taryn was just beginning her junior year as a Theater major at the University of Arkansas when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She had a passion for music and theater since she was just a little girl. Sadly, after a long, courageous fight, Taryn passed away in October 2017. This scholarship was created to honor Taryn’s memory and to help increase public awareness of this deadly disease.

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded each year. Preference will be given to students who are studying music or theater. The scholarship will be mailed to the recipient’s college after the 11th class day of the fall semester.

Scholarship Criteria:
 1. Be enrolled for the Fall 2020 semester at an Arkansas college/university
 2. Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
 3. Complete a 2020-21 FAFSA to demonstrate financial need
